Hello!
I'm creating a power point slide show that I'd like to distribute to my colleagues on a CD by the regular postal service, and I am trying to figure out how I can make the slide show unalterable by whomever receives it. I see how I can make it 'Read-Only' and also that I can 'Lock' it, but neither of these keeps anyone I send the slide show to from taking it off the CD by saving it to their desktop, opening power point, and saving it as another document title to call it their own. I also see that I can save the slide show as a PDF, but there is quite a bit of information lost in the images when I do this, and it's not the same effect as the .pps slide show that I've created. I see also that I can make it a movie, but again, you can't scroll through it the same as the .pps. I realize that both the PDF and Quicktime movie can be taken by someone and altered just the same, but the software to do this is harder to come by, whereas most people have powerpoint on their computers. Is there any way around this?
Thanks so much!

Make a movie out of your presentation:
http://www.indezine.com/articles/cro...erpoint03.html
"PowerPoint on the Mac can export an entire presentation as a QuickTime movie."

Make a secure pdf:

Hello Natobasso,

I am aware of the possibilities of either turning the PPS slideshow into a movie or .pdf. Both ways take away from the final experience. PowerPoint does not have any option built in to create a unalterable, public distributable slideshow? A locked, protected final version. Through a .pdf I loose quite a bit of resolution on the pictures. Not every windows machine has Quicktime installed plus the pausing and playing is not acceptable for pleasant viewing.

Thanks
Jan

Microsoft's help site on password protecting a .pps file, powerpoint show file:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278578

Change .ppt extension to .pps and the powerpoint slides will autostart in 'slide presentation' mode rather than edit mode. Doesn't secure the file but it does simply play automatically with minimal effort.

Some great exporting options here:
http://pptfaq.com/index.html#name_Exporting

Convert ppt to wmv file, openable in Windows Media Player:
http://www.jakeludington.com/ask_jak...nt_to_wmv.html

To make your pages uneditable you could export each page to a jjpg file. More on doing this here:
