TICKET ARCHIVE -> Power Up=blank Screen, have to Press Restart Button Every Time!

hi,
i have a TI500 using 10.3.9 which has to be started up twice before i can use it...
i wonder if the problem is:
overuse of "cache out X"
the battery(?) it cuts out straight away if used....
10.3.9 itself ?
the problem is: power key=chime, but black screen, so i have to press the restart button every time for it to work..
hmm... any ideas would be greatly appreciated as i've had to live with this double start up for months.
thanks, seb.

I doubt that this is a "10.3.9" issue directly. I had no trouble running 10.3.9 on my PB (same model). What's this issue with the batt? Are you saying that if it's on batt it won't work? Have you tried to see if you have to start 2x when the batt's not in? Have you reset the PRAM?

p-ram, yes,
i try not to use the batt at all, (so maybe that was a red herring in retrospect)
have run "fsck" too, nay probs there...
does the power unit itself need resetting ever?

Well, if the batt is bad, dead, etc., then that could cause some wierd issues. Assuming that the batt isn't the problem, then I would say try resetting the PRAM. After that, I'm not sure. What happens when you boot from a restore/install disk?

oh well, if its not an easy thing to fix....
