Why won't it recognize 256 it only reecognizes 128. next; I lock up everytime I try to install 10.3 (trying to do a clean install wiping the driver so no update.)If there is anyone that can help me please help I am Mac illiterate but trying to learn! thanks ahead of time for your support!

Hi,

The maximum amount of RAM supported in all PowerBook G3 Series except the PowerBook G3 Series 1999 is 192 MB. This can be achieved by installing a 128 MB module on the upper slot and a 64 MB module in the lower (dealer accessible only) slot.

OS 10.3 work with the bronze keyboard models only. I hope these answers your questions.
