Hi,
I own a Powerbook G4 and I replaced the LCD since it was cracked. I put it back together and I get an image on the screen, but no backlight. I was wondering if you could help with with my dilemma. I don't have a clue where to begin because I think maybe the inverter board is messed up. I then think it might be the LCD screen itself, but it's good. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

When you replaced the LCD, I suspect you did not make the proper connections to provide power to the backlight; alternatively, the backlight has burned out (which it does eventually, like all bulbs). I assume you did the work yourself because the PB is not under Applecare. However, at this point, you might be best served by having an Apple Store or reseller take a look at it. If it is as simple as a loose or unmade power connection, the cost of the repair should be minor. If the backlight is out, depending on the age of the PB, you might considering replacing it. HTH.

The LCD screen i bought was functional. I placed it into another powerbook and the screen lit up. So I know the LCD is working fine.

I understand the LCD is fine, but the backlight (the light which illuminates the LCD screen) isn't. Those are two different things and I was just wondering if your power connection to the backlight is loose or damaged. Maybe I didn't make myself clear...
