Anyone know the exact procedure to get a sound to loop continuously throughout a slide show using PPT 2004 Mac? I follow MS abbreviated help instructions and the sound file stops as soon as a click anywhere on the first slide occurs. This is a user-controlled show that is setup to advance on click.

This page should have all you need to know about how to setup background music that loops. It is for windows, but since microsoft tried to preserve the interface it shouldn't be hard to adapt it to mac.

Well, I guess my response yesterday did not go through. Sorry. I had indicated that I had tried all the suggestions on the link you sent and still could not resolve the issues. I have yet to find an explanation with the exact interface as mine, but the instructions are essentially the same. Here's the short story and my findings so far.

Objective: play a music loop continuously throughout a user-controlled show, advancing pages on click.

If I place a .wav file, set it up as instructed, the sound stops on the first slide after a click anywhere on the slide.

If I click again, the sound continues, until I click to advance to the next page. A second click on that slide starts the sound again from its beginning.

After that, the sound plays, except it starts over on every page.

The problem seems to be related to the click to advance the slides.

I tried different sound loops with the same result.

I use the latest of all components on Mac OS X 10.4.6

I have not tried mp3 or other flavors.

If you are interested, I can provide a link to all the components. Reluctant to include that here.

Thanks again for your help.

That's strange. Is this presentation for an important work thing? Or just for school if you're a student. I know it's not the fix you're hoping for, but couldn't you just open the wav in the background right before you start your presentation, or edit the wav, so it has 5-10 minutes of no sound?

Yes, It is important-business. BTW, I am not receiving the email notifications of responses as requested. I don't see how the other options you suggest would work. The background loop changes half way through the show. The problem is not so much starting the wav, but the stopping on click and restarting. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Mac version of MSPPT.
