Hi
I have downloaded a pdf file which when opened in Preview app displays similar to a negative. When i open the same file in adobe acrobat (7) it displys fine. I believe that the file is a pdf made from cmyk pictures.
There must be a setting for Preview that can be changed.
Preview is version 3.01 and when i go into prefferences the only settings in the color are Apple CMM or Automatic. I tried both, no luck. Tried also to delete actual preff. files for preview in this user.
I also searched on Google as well as the forum on this site.

My mac is a Imac G5 with OSX 10.4.2
Any help or tip is appreciated.

Will be back online tomorow (saturday) morning

Howdy!

It's possible the file that was created, the pdf, has a color error, or some RGB images. I'd suggest viewing your pdfs in Acrobat instead of Preview--you might have better luck.

Also, have whomever created the pdf file make a PDF/X-1a--this type of file won't allow itself to be created with an error inside it. Could be a solution.

Hi Nathaniel,
I will let the creator of the pdf's know. I think they use freehand to create the pdf's. and since they use the same file also for print they just use CMYK images instead of making 2 distinct ones (1 RGB and 1 CMYK).
In any case thank you from Spain.

un saludo

Roland, just so you know this IS the actual solution, not a workaround. But thank you for the compliment in your feedback!
