In OS X the program Preview has started failing from time-to-time. It appears to have problems with PDF files only. Jpg, Tiff and other things open fine, but any PDF file simply starts a little beach ball spinning forever, or until I force the system to quit.

HI Clint,

My name is Carolyn. I will try to help you with Preview!

Ok.. go to your Macintosh HD>Users>Library>Preferences.
Locate the: com.apple.preview.plist file and drag it tot he Trash. Empty the Trash.

Now, I want you to run Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
Go to your Macintosh HD>Applications>Utility. In the Utility folder you will find Disk Utility. Double click that. When the window opens, look on the left side it will say:
Macintosh HD. Select that. Now, click the button that says:
Repair Permissions. After that is finished, Quit Disk Utility.
Now try to open a .pdf file and see if it works.

If that does not fix the problem, please post back and we'll try something else...

Carolyn :-)
