My Mac is using OS 10.3.9 and I want to share my ML-1210 with a PC. I attempted to use CUSP but the PC claims the ML-1210 cannot be "shared". Is there a step-by-step process for sharing a Mac printer with a PC? Thanks.
Season's Greetings!
Hello, my name is Carolyn and I will try to assist you.
Ok... to start with I'm not familiar with CUSP, but I might be able to make suggestions that can get you going in the right direction.
In your Mac's System Preferences click "Print & Fax"... when that window appears, click the Sharing button. Make sure your ML-1210 is indicated in the box. And make sure there is a check mark where it says "Share these printers with other computers". Also, while you have the System Preferences window open click "Sharing". When that window opens, click Services. Make sure Printer Sharing is turned ON.
Do you have the most recent drivers (software) for the printer? You might check the Samsung site to make sure. It's good to have an extra driver installer so you can reinstall if need be. Sometimes just deleting the old driver and installing new takes care of the problem.
Tell me about CUSP please...
And here is a link to information for help with Mac/PC printer sharing:

There are tutorials there too.
Make sure to run Disk Utility also and Repair Permissions. That can fix some bugs in printer software. Disk Utility is in the Applications/Utilties folder. Launch Disk Utility, then select the MacintoshHD in the panel on the left. Click Repair Permissions.
Only takes about a minute. Quit Disk Utility.

Hopefully something I've suggested helps... if you need further assistance, please post back! Also, another area to post for Mac/PC networking is at:

Don't hesitate to let me know if you need further assistance.

PS And thanks for choosing Macosx.com!
Thanks for your reply. I've reviewed all the links you sent. And still not having any luck. BTW - I miswrote CUSP instead of CUPS (Common Linux Printing System) on OSX.
1) I have installed the latest Samsung-GDI with foomatic and ESP ghostscript driver combination for my ML-1210 (which apparently is supposed to assist in sharing).
2) I added the printer on my PC linking it to my Macintosh as sharing;
3) When I attempted to print nothing happened. I opened the PC Print Center and found there was an error. When I opened properties/sharing on the printer I received an error message "Sharing is not supported for this kind of printer".
4) I'm almost positive I've seen postings on the web claiming that this printer has been shared. So I'm obviously still doing something wrong...
Thanks again for your assistance.

The secret was installing the Apple Laserwriter driver instead of the Samsung driver onto my PC.
