Description:
I have a Personal LaserWriter LS that has served me extremely well for several years. (about 7 or 8 years)
I have used this printer successfully with 3 Apple computers over this time but now have a problem with the fourth. I have a PowerPc running OS 8.1. There seems to be a compatability problem with these two pieces of software. I cannot run my old LS printer driver at all. As a result, I must drive my LS with the LaserWriter 300/LS driver that came with the computer. This does work but, for some reason, it prints at about 1/3 speed. This is a really fine laser printer and I can't understand why I can't find a driver that will allow me to operate it at it's designed speed.
Any solution will be appreciated more than I can say.(We print about 400 invoices on the first of each month and sit around twiddling our thumbs while the printer seems to have to think about each invoice before printing it.
Thanks,
Duane Erickson

Hi Duane, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
The LaserWriter 300/LS driver is the driver Apple specifies for this printer now.
You can try turning background printing off and see if this helps.
You can also try reinstalling your original printer software.
