KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: Beginner

PROBLEM: Hardware
COMPUTER TYPE: HP Laser Jet III
MODEL:
RAM: Not related
OS VERSION: Not related
SERVICE PACK:

DESCRIPTION:

Printer Jams on Regular Paper & Card Stock. BUT, it prints with heavier (not Card Stock), coarse paper. It will not even print the coarse paper from inside the tray. But will only print from the Top, Manual Feed Tray.

My guess is that it's the rollers up front. as that's where it always jams. Doesn't get far in at all.

My Questions are:
How much should those Rollers Cost?
Is it something that I s/b able to replace myself?
If not, How much should Labor charge be?
Where, in Columbus, Oh, would you recommend such service?
What Else can it be?

Feel very fortunate to have found your site. I've made one phone call in Cols & was told $35 just to look at machine & do diagnostics. And that they'd have my printer for 2 weeks! Gotta' be a better solution.

Thank You Very Much.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,

Thanks for using No Wonder! Is your printer pretty new? Have you contacted Hewlett Packard about it? If the warranty is still honorable, they should replace it or fix it for free. Look through the information your printer came with and there should be a toll-free support number to call. Or you can go to their support web site, http://www.hp.com/ghp/services.html . I suggest trying this before looking anywhere else, and I don't think replacement rollers are sold anywhere. If you have any further questions, feel free to e-mail me.
