Description:
I have an HP Deskjet 855C printer. I could print from my Performa 6300CD with no trouble running either system 7.5 or 8.0. When I installed the printer on my Starmax I cannot print. It keeps saying the printer is not there or responding. I have gone through all the normal troubleshooting tips in my printer manual. One strange thing is I am able to print one page at a time if I do a print preview but I cannot spool an entire job to the printer. I have reinstalled the HP software and no change. I have tried with the Apple printer extensions both off and on with no change. I have downloaded the most recent version of print driver from HP website and no change either. For the heck of it I have rebuilt desktop but not zapped PRAM. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Hi welcome to Nowonder
Go into your control panel to the Apple talk and set the printer port to remote only.
Also make sure that in the extension manage - desktop printer spooler and desktop monitor is unchecked and also the Quickdraw GX. See if this will help. best regards sharona@nowonder
