I just got a new Mac and have connected my HP printer to it (psc 2400 series). I can print fine from the Mac, but also need to share it with Windows and Linux machines.
I have shared the printer and can see it under Windows. I can print to it, but nothing ever comes out. I even see the jobs in the completed-jobs queue (both the Mac program, and the Cups program):
" psc_2400_series-12 smbprn.00000004 Microsoft Word - Document1 nick 3k completed at
Fri May 27 20:10:19 2005 "
The problem is, nothing ever comes out of the printer. Again, printing straight from the Mac works just fine.
Thanks for any help!
Hi Nick,
In short, when you set up the printer you need to select any PostScript driver like the Apple LaserWriter or Color LaserWriter instead of the printer model you're using.

Yes, thank you very much. Setting up a 2nd printer directly in CUPS solved the issue. I can now print from WinXP and Linux.
