DESCRIPTION:

Installing Quicken ver 8.0 DOS on system, which loaded ok then when I tried to load Quick Pay a screen appeared telling me disk drive was full (10.4GB) hard drive.
Could anyone please help me with this.
Quick pay ver 3.0 also DOS.

Hi Robert,

are you sure you have ver 8 Dos ? As far as I know it stops a ver 6 (for pc),
after that it'sver 98 and 99.
Anyway, if your having a DOS based version this means it will check your HD
the 'DOS' way. Dos had a 2 GB limit on HD's. After the introduction of Win98
(which supported hd > 2gb) computer manufacturers didn't bother to use partitions anymore. So I guess you got a 10 gig hd, containing more than 2
gig of data ? In this case that will be the reason. Quicken will not recognize
what's beyond the first 2 gig.
You could use a partition manager to create partitions, but I think it will be easier to go to Intuit's home page and download a (free) upgrade (or buy a Win98 version). In fact it will be compulsary as the old dos-versions are not Y2000 complient.
