i recently purchased an ibook G4 with mac os x v10.4 software. I have a dell pc already and a dell photo all in one printer 922. i was wondering if there is a driver i can download for my ibook so i can print with my ibook and the dell 922 printer

I'm sorry - Dell doesn't provide drivers for OS X, and, the firmware in the printer prevents the driver from Lexmark (the real manufacturer) from recognizing the printer in OS X.
No one has gotten that printer to print from OS X.
On the other hand, if you still have a PC that you can connect the printer to, to be a print server, you can setup the PC to accept postscript input (from the Mac) and print to the printer:

hey thanks for the detailed instructions, they were pretty easy to follow and use. I did everything you told me to do but got stuck on step three. I entered everything into the add new printer wizard and went through all the steps but in the end when i try to print a test page my computer just gives me a "this document has failed to print" message. I'm just wondering if there is something that i'm doing wrong or if there is something else i can do, thanks

Just to be clear, which step three are you referring to? Add local printer on the Server PC? And are you at the step where the instructions say No, don't print a test page yet?

sorry if i was unclear, the instructions you gave me consisted of five steps, i am on step three "Set up an emulated Postscript printer on Windows XP that will actually print to the (probably non-Postscript) printer set up in step one." I got all the way to the end of step three where it says print a test page but it doesnt print it, i went back and double checked everything i could think of but i just don't know what to do now

(Those instructions aren't from me...)
I don't think I can help without being there to see your computer screen. Sorry.
So, you think you completed the part about setting up a redirected printer? And you chose a color postscript driver (like the Color LaserWriter they suggest)?

ya i picked the one they suggested, it was the Apple Color LW 12/660 PS. I selected that, everything else made sense to me untill i had to enter my printer type, it asked me to "In the Arguments for this program are box, enter -printer "HP DeskJet 722C" -color -. It is essential that you precisely identify the name of the real, working printer (in this case, "HP DeskJet 722C") and that you include the trailing hyphen that stands alone". That is what the instructions were. I have a dell photo AIO printer 922 so i put that into the "arguments for this program are" box. i also saw the text below (update: arguments) and so i tried to put that in as well but to no avail, if there is nothing else you can do just tell me and i will probably have to get a new printer
Update: Arguments
I've been alerted that you may need to add the options "-copies 1" in there somewhere. If you're having troubles getting your printer to work, try adding that. -RH

I think I'll return you to the rest of the Techs - in case someone has some ideas.
Good luck.
