Dear Friends-
I have researched the following problem at length, but to no avail. I appreciate your assistance!
When attempting to print PDF documents, the "job" stops and the message, "pictwpstops - got error disposing pf document = - 9783" appears. The printing problem appears to be limited to PDF documents.
I am using OS X 10.3.9. The version of Adobe Reader is 7.0.3 and the printer is an Epson R200. To date, I have reinstalled Adobe Reader and also the latest Epson driver. I ran Print Setup Repair 4.2.2 PE, Disk Utility, and TechTool Pro 4.0.0, but the problem persists.
Any ideas? Thank you for your help!

Hi, I'm Greg, your Volunteer Tech.
You have certainly done all the right things. The problem with OS X is that there are about 100,000 files, and we have very few tools to figure out which one is corrupted. At some point it becomes necessary to just reinstall OS X. I recommend using the Archive & Install option in the installer.
If you're not ready to give up, try re-updating using the 10.3.9 Combination updater first.
Good luck.

Greg-
I tried re-updating the 10.3.9 Combo and booted-up my system with the TechTool disk. I then ran the TechTool program, but to no avail. When I tried re-installing OSX 10.3, I was denied because I was already running 10.3.9. The "Option" button was not visible and so I could not do an archive and install. I have since started to once again use Preview to read and print my pdfs.
What I really don't understand, is why all applications print except Reader. I would think that it would have something to do with the Reader application itself since it all pdf files fail to print as long as Reader is listed as the default program. I'm also not sure why I cant reinstall 10.3. When I click install on the installation disks, my Mac re-boots from the installation disk. I'm not given any options except no.
Greg, it's no big deal to use Preview, but it bothers me that an application as popular as Reader just fails to print.
What do you think about all of this? Sorry to take up so much of your volunteer time. Thanks again!

Sorry,
This is one of those I just don't have an answer for.
Would you like me to send you back to the rest of the Techs?

No, that's OK. It's really not that urgent at the moment, however, I do very much appreciate your efforts in trying to assist me.
Best regards,
