Hi -

I've been trying to fix a printing issue and having no luck. Hope someone might have a thought.
I've reloaded the printer software (after uninstalling it), as well as a couple updates found online, but still have no printer utility app in my utility folder. Very odd. Printer will spool file I send to print, but then it looks for the printer and can't find it. As there is no printer window, I can't check that. I'm stumped. Not sure if this is an issue with the computer or the printer or the software? I have things Ii wanted to print for Christmas and running out of time - have been trying to find fixes for this the past 2 weeks and decided to post here, though it may be an issue with Epson (brand new, R320)and not the Mac.
Any ideas are welcome!

Thanks,
Deb

Do you mean there is no Printer Setup Utility? Have you searched for that? You won't be able to print until that is fixed. There is a utility for extracting and saving individual files from your install DVD, called pacifist. Get it from www.versiontracker.com.

Hi -

Yes - correct - there is no print setup utility icon even after reloading all software. Never have run across this issue in the past.
Sorry, I lost you on the part about saving files from my DVD?
I'm trying to print files from Photoshop. Files are on my HD.

Thanks,
Deb

You can't complete setup of the printer without Printer Setup Utility - you won't be able to print until you have Printer Setup Utility. The utility "pacifist" is for installing individual files/icons/programs from the install DVD. I meant for you to use that to install just the Printer Setup Utility.

Hi -

Thanks for clarifying.
I installed everything on the CD that came with the printer, which is why I"m confused as to why the PSU seems to have gone missing. It was there when I first installed the software 6 months ago. Since I uninstalled, it has not reappeared.

The Printer Setup Utility is part of OS X, not the printer software. It can be found on the OS X install DVD.

Ahh - thanks - I didn't realize you had meant the OSX CD. I'm not sure I know where it is after 3 years. Do you suppose I can download it off the Apple site or elsewhere?

Thanks!

No, sorry, it's only available on your original DVD/CD.

Good luck. I'll be sending you back to the rest of the Techs now.
