I have a Mac G4 running OSX Panther.
I still have some documents created with OS9 applications such as MacWrite Pro and Aldus FreeHand that I wish to print to PDF files when running in Classic.
Until a few months ago, I was able to do this by selecting print to file in the Classic print dialog and then selecting the PDF file type. When I try to do this now, the PDF option is grayed out.
I can print to PDF in any OSX application without problems.
I have Adobe Acrobat installed in OS9 applications and Acrobat Professional installed in OSX applications.
It's as though the PDF option vanished a few months back, perhaps when I last upgraded Panther.
Can you offer any suggestions?

Frank,
If you have Adobe Acrobat installed and it's still not working, I would suggest reinstalling Acrobat - in the classic environment. It's a perfectly reasonable solution. If that still doesn't work, install PrinttoPDF a shareware (low-res) PDf exporter for Classic found on VersionTracker.com.
Good luck!

Thanks for getting back to me.
In searching around I was able to solve the problem myself.
I found that I could rebuild the desktop for OS9 via the Classic dialog in System Preferences. I did this, and it restored the PDF file option in the print dialog. It works fine. Problem solved.
Thanks for your efforts and the prompt response. I'll be back to you in the future, I'm sure.
