We have a 2 computer network at home.

I use a Dual 1K G4 quicksilver

My wife uses an iBook G4 800

Both are equipped with airport cards and we use an airport express as our wireless hub.

I can print through Bonjour printers - My wife cannot.

On her iBook, Bonjour is not listed as an option in the print window when she's choosing printers.

She has perfect, fast access to the internet through the airport - but cannot print.

We use a Brother HL1440 laser printer and have installed the most recent drivers on both computers.

We have updated our airport firmware to version V6.2

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Stuart

Do both of your computers have Mac OS X Tiger (10.4) installed on your computers? Panther (10.3) does not have Bonjour options, so you can't use that. I would suggest upgrading the Panther to Tiger (if your Quicksilver has it, I assume you have the disk?)

hope this helps you out.

cheers,
Joey

Well then, I would try snooping around in my network settings for a way to enable Bonjour if it isn't enabled. You could also download and application called iStumbler that looks around your network for bonjour and rendezvous items, and also bluetooth devices and airport networks (it'll come in handy with the iBook when you're on-the-go. If it doesn't show up, let me know and I'll re-open the topic because im out of ideas.

Cheers,
Joey

for your records:

We went into the printer drivers folder and manually deleted the earlier versions - after restart, Bonjour was available and printing was no problem.

Thanks for your help.
