Description:
I have an iMac computer and an Epson 740 printer, connected with an USB cord. I download the Epson site off the internet, upgraded OS 8.5 to 8.5.1, and installed the software off the CD that came with the printer. The printer worked beautifully for the first day but today when I went to print nothing happened. The problem seems to be for some reason I had to reinstall the software but when I go to the Chooser I can't pick a port. The error message says I can't have that port because some other system is using it, such as Appletalk, and I have to end that use, possibly by disabling Appletalk. Well, even when I disable Appletalk I still get the same message.

Hi welcome to Nowonder
Go into your Apple Talk control panel and set it to remote only. Then go to the chooser select printer and restart. Make sure in your extension manager that desktop Print monitor, desktop Print spooler and quickdraw GX are not checked. Best regards sharona@nowonder.com
