TICKET ARCHIVE -> Problem Printing On Hp 4mplus From Qxpress 5

hi!

Here's my config :

MacOS X using MacOS Classic (Quark Xpress 5)
HP 4M Plus PS Driver using a USB to IEEE-1284 controller wire.

Everytime i try to seperate my colors, it prints the black sheet, then junk.. i tried to print using a bitmap driver but it instead of printing junk , it doesnt print anything else but the black sheet..)

I would really like to have some leads..

Howdy!

Since the 4MP is a black and white printer, its driver, presumably, won't have any color capabilities. However, if you first make a pdf file with your separations you can then print that to your hp printer. Of course make sure you use your classic version of acrobat to print the pdf to your classic printer.

Hi ! Thanx for your quick answer. I already thought of that, but it works when there is no bitmap images in the file. I can separate CMYK colors if they are in vectorial format (Illustrator for instance) but when i use a bitmap, it simply print junk when it comes to print the color plates..

I hope i was clearer this time..

Have you printed using a driver other than the 4mp, like adobe acrobat?

Do you have any rgb images, jpgs or gifs in your doc?
