I am trying to reinstall the OS because I have encountered some problems, and an Apple Store employee told me I had to do it on my own since he couldn't help me in store. I used the cd's supplied with my Mac Book.

When I put in cd#2, the installation gets as far as installing iWeb when the installation process simply restarts. Is this a bad disk? I have tried rebooting and starting over, but the same thing happens.

Thoughts?

With my Tiger install, only DVD #1 was used. #2 was the test disk. Are you saying the installer asks you to insert CD #2?
Do you know if the first disk is a DVD?

Yes, the installer asks for cd#2. The first disk was labelled "Mac OS X Install Disc 1". There's no mention of DVD anywhere. Hmm.

Yes, it sounds like you are using CDs and #2 is bad. I don't know about now, but before Leopard came out, Apple would replace CDs for about $10

Sorry I can't help more.
