Whenever I burn a CD off my macbook using toast 6 or 8 it has a loud buzzing sound in the background. I even bought an external burner to see if it was my internal burner, but I had the same problem. Any thoughts or help? Thanks. Aleya
The audio file is fine on my computer but not on a CD.

I'm a little confused about your problem...
Are you burning audio CDs from Toast?
And the audio files on that CD are OK on your computer, but you hear buzzing when you play that burned CD on another CD player?

If I have that correct - have you tried burning an audio CD directly from iTunes, and do you get buzzing when you try THAT CD in another player.

Let me know what you find out...

Aleya - you really need to use more words here. That will help me to help you.
Do you mean that you burned 2 songs to one disk that did not buzz, and you had some others on that same CD that still did buzz.
Did you try a couple of test CDs in iTunes?
Did you try a different CD in Toast? Try adjusting the audio gap settings in Toast.
Make sure to try different settings in iTunes, such as the preferences for Sound Check and Sound Enhancer. Try turning those off, if on; or on, if off.

Sorry about that. I burned two discs each disc had five tracks all track were good. Then on the other CD's I tried to burn all 5 to 8 tracks on each CD had the buzz. I then tried doing a slow burn with 4 sec between songs and that did not work. Any thoughts. I have changed all settings on toast many variations and nothing helped. I purchased Toast 8 when toast 6 started with this problem. I use an edirol external recording device and also record off the internal mic on my lap top and am now just in the last 10 days having a problem. Whereas before I never had this problem. Any thoughts. Aleya

What was different about the two CDs that worked (no buzz)?
You also haven't said that you used iTunes as a test.

Is the hum caused by the power supply?
Try plugging in your MacBook power adapter to a different mains outlet, or try the burn without the power adapter at all.
Also, try that a different outlet with the power supply for the Edirol.

It is more like a crackle. I tried I tunes in all different configurations. I have tried to burn and record with all different power and plug settings. It has a loud hissing buzz crackle in the background like a file is corrupted but I bought a new digital chip and that did not fix it. I recorded right off my computer and that did not fix it. The audio file is fine on the computer then when I try to burn it, it will become distorted using Itunes or Toast. I hope this helps. Thank you. Aleya

Explain what you mean by "digital chip"?
New memory - MP3 player - USB flash memory - something else?

Are you burning as a copy directly from another audio CD?
Or, are these audio files that you have created/recorded?
If these are your own creations - have you tried recording another using different quality settings? (either higher or lower)

You didn't answer - What was different about how you burned the 2 CDs that don't buzz?
Have you tried burning a disk without the Edirol attached? Make sure the USB or fireWire cable is also disconnected from your MacBook. No headphones, no external speakers, nothing.... You want to make sure that no external device is not introducing any noise....
