hi,my mac is ibook G4 1.2 G
my os x is 10.4.2
I used to use Virtual PC on my mac ,
some days ago, I did some changes and then my VPC doesn't work properly.

I do as the following :
1, When I finished installing VPC, it says "the starup items folder ("/Library/StartupItems/")does not have the proper security settings."
clicked fix, and then choose "restart"
and another box says "Virtual Switch networking could not be started." click "ok"(only this button)

2, after restart the mac, the vpc opens automatically
and the two alert box appears again

I install and uninstall the vpc program for several times , but the problem does not seem to be solved.

Please tell me what can I do?
thank you

Wang, welcome to macosx.com

Found several times this on the Web:
"Microsoft has found that its latest version of Virtual PC for the Macintosh does not work with Tiger. The Virtual Switch component, which allows users to assign an IP address for the PC software which is different than the address used by the users Macintosh. This should not provide much of an obsticle for most users.
Update: Microsoft has released an update, Virtual PC 7.0.2, which fixes this problem. Users should download and install this update."

Do you made this update ?

Regards
Philippe

I have installed vpc 7 successfully and upgrate to 7.02
but I still have a problem when I try to connecting ADSL
I have selected "virtual networking" but it doesn't work properly, then I choose "shared networking" it doesn't work properly, too.
How can I connect ADSL on Mac OS X and use the net on Windows 2K?
thank you

Well, Wang the only thing I know is that VPC use your OsX Network settings for Web access.
So, if you can surf from macOsx, you can also surf inside VPC
But that's all I know about
Do you got to Microsoft site (http://www.microsoft.com/mac/support.aspx) and see if you can find an answer ?
I prefer to repool the question for another VPC specialist to take this issue.
Regards
Philippe
