TICKET ARCHIVE -> programs do not open

I live in switzerland and find it hard to find anybody to help me.
I have a problem. The problem is with two of my applications (one game
one internet phone)
My computer is a 233 mmx, 48 ram with windows98
i habe a soundblaster 128pci and vga metrox mystique
The problem is that I cant always open the program on clicking on it
or opening it. It seems to hang and when you do alt-ctrl- del it shows
the program as "not responding" If i doubleclick on the shortcut two
or three more times eventually it does open and sometimes it the opens
up 2 or 3 times.
I have dounloaded all the updated drivers and pathes so the problem is
not there. Do you have any suggestions.
The programs it happens with are tomb raider 3 and Vocaltec internet
phone.
PLEASe PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Hello Nigel,
The problem you descibed sounds like a performance problem. Sorry to be the one to tell you this but the fact of the matter is that you simply do not have enough memory on that comp....48 megs is hardly sufficient to keep win 98 happy let alone run some other major program such as tomb radier... My suggestion is that you add more memory to your comp. It's relativly cheap now a days and you will defintely see drastic improvements with say a 32 meg upgrade. You really shouldn't be clicking on programs 2-3 times...just be patient...if you had the memory to support it the program would open instantly, since you do not only try to open it once...it will open...but the program will just take a while.
Sorry there isn't much else we can do for you, thanks for choosing NoWonder.
