I have an old Pwr Bk Duo 280c that won't turn on at all. Plugged in
What can I try to see if I can resurrect it and at least get it on to see
if I can somehow save the data in it??? I don't have the manual or
anything that goes with it. Just the Duo and the power cord. Think
I have the dock somewhere if it's needed. Hoping there is an easy
fix or at least Something I can try. THANKS!!! Laurie

Easy fix? You could try resetting the power manager chip by pressing the rear power switch for 30-45 seconds.
Or, Simultaneously press keys
to reset computer.
Connect the power adapter, and let the Duo sit for 3 or 4 minutes before you try to start...

Has the PowerBook been used at all recently?
The main battery, when left in the Duo needs to be recharged at least once per month, even if not used. If the battery is not left in that PowerBook, then the battery needs to be recharged at least every six months. If the battery has not been charged at all recently, then it has likely lost the capability to hold a charge. There's also a rechargeable backup battery (the PRAM battery) inside the PowerBook, which is likely also completely dead.
Have you tried removing the main battery, and then turn on the PowerBook?
It won't hurt to try that dock, and see if there is any change....

If any of this gets no response from that PowerBook, and the PowerBook hasn't been used recently, and has just been stored for several years, then you will not likely be successful.
