I am planning to change to InDesign as fast as I can, but in the meantime, I am all of the sudden getting an end of file [-39] error and it turns the file to 0K so something is not registerig. There has been no change in fonts in this job, no new art--nothing. Just a name change to the file. And now--locked out. (I do have back ups.) Granted Quark is worthless, but maybe soone has some info.

thanks in advance.

Hmmm… as the name suggests, I'm a bit of a fan of QuarkXPress, so easy on the InDesign plugs! ;-)

The name change is the problem. You have used an invalid character in the name, either of the document itself, or of the layout. Try changing it again, missing out anything other than the basic 256-character ASCII set – A–Z, a–z, 1-0, in other words!

I know a certain personage (who shall remain nameless – isn't that right, Natobasso) who will be on this ticket like a flash, making rude remarks about this greatest of applications!

Thanks much. I have four external hard drives due to instenity of deadlines/importance of jobs and Quark shakiness. I did a save-as and renamed it. SO will try this in the future. Thanks again. (BTW I have been on Quark since 1987 and certainly am comfortable with it but it does have the most problems compared to other softwares....

Thanks for letting me vent.
