To whom it may concern:

Hi. I have five questions for you regarding Adobe's Photoshop CS(1).

1- Is the program fully compatible with an Intel-based iMac (OS 10.4.10)?

2- If so, does it run natively on an Intel-based iMac (OS 10.4.10)?

3- Is there more to the "Creative Suite" than just Photoshop?

4- If so, what other programs, applications or features are bundled-in?

5- What is the difference between the Standard and the Premiere versions?

I don't know if I will recieve your response through this website's PM box or via E-Mail, but in case of the latter I can be reached at:

" ormlygumfudgen@excite.com "

Thank you very much,

O.G.

Hello Ormly

thanks for using macosx.com and I will do my best to advise and assist you

OK lets take them in order.

1 - Adobe will tell you it is "unsupported" meaning it probably works but if it doesn't work 100% (or at all) don't come asking us to help you out...

2 - No it does not run natively it runs in the Rosetta mode - so does CS2 fwiw, a lot of professionals held back from buying intel Macs until CS3 was available and touted full Universal Binary support

3 - Yes the Creative Suite (and the Design Collection before that) comprises Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator and in the Premiere version Acrobat and Go Live (IIRC) Later versions (CS2 and CS3 have got more complicated... with multiple CS3 sets "Production" "Design" etc. and the variants of PS and PS extended... the addition of DreamWeaver, Flash and all sorts

5 - See 4 but for CS the main feature of the Premiere is the Addition of Acrobat Pro

Hope that is some help

PS the long and the short of it is if you are thinking of buying this product be aware that it might not run as well as you would like...

If you are on a budget and don't need super "Pro" features you might want to consider alternatives such as Gimp or Gimpshop, Pixelmator, the new Photoshop Elements 6, etc.

Come back to me if you need more advice
