Dear Tech,
I'm interested in purchasing the Sims 2 PC game for the Mac. However, I am a bit uneasy about the system requirements for the game and whether or not my Mac computer qualifies.
The game states here that these are the requirements.
Sims2 System Requirements:
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3.8 or later
CPU Processor: PowerPC G4/G5
CPU Speed: 1.2GHz or faster
Memory: 256 MB or higher
Hard Disk Space: 3GB free disk space
Video Card (ATI): Radeon 9000 or better
Video Card (NVidia): GeForce FX5200 or better
Video Memory (VRam): 32 MB or higher
Media Required: DVD Drive
I'm not sure if my MacBook computer will run the Sims 2 game or not. Can you help?
Thank you.
Angela
You probably actually have all these requirements and more built in to you Macbook pro, the one area that may be weak could be the video card in your system.
If it is a Radeon or Nvidia there is a very good chance the game will work.
I run SimCity and various other PC games on my Macbook pro with no problem greater than getting the screen size of the game, set to match the computer display, and from what i have seen, most of the Sim games work well.
To check out what you have in your Mac, go to the Apple menu and choose "About this Mac"
Further down, you will see a window that says "More Info". Select this and you should be able to see which video card Apple put in your computer, or if you got it direct from Apple then you got to choose the video card you wanted. I think that you will find you have all the resources required and to spare, certainly for this game.

Thank you so much for helping me with my question about the Sims game for my Mac Computer. It gave me the assurance that I can play the game and have already ordered it and am waiting patiently for the arrival. If the game does not work, I will be sure to ask you further questions immediately if that is okay.
Once again, thank you!
Sincerely,
Angela
