TICKET ARCHIVE -> Quicken incompatabil

Computer Type: apple
Model: power mac 6500
RAM: 48meg
RAM Enhancer: Virtual Memory
OS Version: MacOS 8.1
Description:
I have repeated crashes, freezes and lost data with quicken 98. Button bar disappears. system settings (ie sound printer etc ) change or simply vanish. Have tried downgrading to system 8 from 8.1. In desperation, tried reinstalling quicken 7 (I have my hard drive segmented into three 2 mg hardrives). When I made new files for 99, all my categories disappeared. I'm at wits end to understand this problem. Appears to be conflict with extension. Have run disk first aid, and get report that all is well. Norton says there is a problem, but cant solve it without the original norton application, which I only have on my apple backup cd. Is this problem showing up anywhere else with other users? thanks for hearing me out

Check to make sure you have Quicken 98 release 3. I had some problems such as you describe before I upgraded. Go to the about Quicken in the Apple menu and press the "R" key the dialog box should then come up with some system info and the release number. If it's less than r3, download r3 from the quicken.com website. You might also consider upgrading to System 8.5.1. It works better than 8.1 or below.
I have a question for you: Do you use electronic banking with Quicken? I have been unable to get Quicken to go online for banking and am looking for others who have had problems.
