Mathew, welcome to macosx.com

(1) when in OF, if you type "mac-boot", does it boot ? Can you use your mac normally ?
(2) could you check that the hard drive connecting ribbon is well attached to the drive on on side and the logic board on the other sie ?
(3) could remove, then put back in place the RAM boards (and checkin they are firmly engaged in their sockets) ?

Regards
Philippe

Wow thanks for the fast response!!!

1) No the computer actually freezes while in OF. I cannot use the computer normally :/

2) At the moment I have no hard drives or any PCI cards inside the computer. I had pulled them in an effort to isolate any conflicts.

3) I've pulled and re-seated my RAM probably 5-6 times so far :/

I have a feeling my logic board is pooped. As I've been typing this I've been toying with my Quicksilver with absolutely nothing plugged into it at all except for my Apple 17" LCD and it popped into OF with a default catch. My Apple startup chime as all garbled too. And the computer will only boot up and into OF on power-on. Most of the time if I hit the restart button it will never even get so far as OF, only a black screen, it won't even power-up my mouse.

Thanks so much for your time
mat

Well, Mathew, not good news so.
I hate ending an issue on "logic board failure" or equivalent.
I know computers are only electronic stuffs and electronics stuffs can be burned out, but when we see the prices of the machine we bought...

I hope, Matt, you will find a solution that fits your need and your budget.
Being so upset to not been able to help you on this, be sure that we, tech guys on macosx.com, will be always here to help you on your daily of the mac

Cross fingers, Mathew and thank you for using macosx.com
