When downloading movie trailers, videos, etc., it takes forever.

Hi Kay-Welcome to Macosx.com.
So that I can better help you diagnose your issue, what type of internet do you have? Do you have dial up, dsl, or cable? If you're not sure, what company provides your internet.

Ok-Were you ever able to access video content like that through quicktime? Do you experience the same thing when you are on the regular internet?

I can access movie trailers, videos, etc. but instead of loading at a reasonable rate, they drag on forever, If I try to watch while they're loading, it plays for a bit until it catches up to the download and then stops, starts again for a while, stops to download some more, etc. I usually pause the playback until it has downloaded completely, then play it back in its entirety. I tried to watch the video about the new Leopard upgrade for my computer on the Apple Store site. It was so long that I just didn't have the time to sit there and wait through the download.
Maybe this is normal but other people that I know who have Macs do not seem to have this problem.
I don't know what you mean "on the regular internet." When I click on any download, my computer automatically uses QuickTime to access the video.
Thanks for trying to help.

Sorry for the confusion.
If you go to a site, like youtube.com, are you able to view the videos, or are they very slow?
Thanks,

YouTube works just fine. Haven't tried any others.

Thank you for your continued patience.
Does this issue still occur on other accounts on your mac? If you want to add a new account to try, details are at
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.h.../en/mh168.html.

The internet address above was for adding a new user account. I don't want to add a new user. I'm the only one use uses my computer. Thanks, again. Sorry to be a pill.

To help diagnose this problem, I would like to see if the problem still exists on a second user account. We can erase the account as soon as we're done with the test. Is this OK?
Thanks,

OK. I opened a new account. Let's go!
leonard.leotech - Nov 1, 2007 - 7:29 pm
Launch Quicktime in the new account and try to watch a trailer. Do you have the same problem as on your other account?

Yep. It does the same thing. I made sure all other windows, programs, etc. were closed and just opened one thing. No luck.

Please, I'm STILL WAITING!!! Read my last response above. I hate to have my ticket canceled sans any kind of meaningful response from you. I hope someone reads this.

I'm really sorry about the delay-I was just trying to get the best answer for you.
A Senior Tech recomended contacting your Internet Service Provider (Verizon DSL) and inquire about streaming video. Sorry this is all I could find for you.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
