I have quicktime pro installed on the work computer, but everytime that I am on a site that employs quicktime I get a black box that says no picture. I can never watch the content. I sometimes have to test the videos for clients and most are in this format. Now testing on the web live causes the problem, but opening a quicktime file already downloaded on my Mac quicktime works just fine. I am wondering if it is a plugin problem (happens in both Safari and Firefox), java update/setting?, or a program error. Any help would be greatly appreciated in fixing this.

Thanks

Hi, Ryan,
Did you recently update anything?
There is an issue with Quicktime and a security update.
The good news is that it is usually easily solved.

The first thing to try is to delete the Preferences for Quicktime. To do this, open the Library folder in your home user folder. Go to the Preferences folder and find the file called

com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist

Delete this file, log out, then log back in.

This should fix the problem. If it doesn't please let me know and we'll keep trying.

Leigh
