I have a 344 MB movie with the QuickTime logo on the icon and an mpg extension. This is my Field Sobriety Test, obtained from the police. The ReadMe file says that if you download the Coban player (.exe so useless to me) you can use extra features, but it will play in RealPlayer or Windows Media Player. It doesn't, nor does it play in QuickTime (The
Have you tried converting the file? Quick Time Pro is pretty slick. It costs $29.99 and you can download the key that unlocks it and you're up and running in no time flat. I didn't think I'd need it, but I finally broke down and upgraded and it really opened up a new world of possibilities for me. If you are at all a geek it's worth the money. Check it out here, and I've added a few more links you can look at as well.

Also, if you want, you could send me the file (zip it first for easy transport) to
grggary1@netscape.net and I can see if I can get the file to work for you. What machine are you using, what version of OSX, etc. Any info you can add will be of help. Thanks.

a guy named Phillipe wrote me back and suggested ffmpegX to convert my file. I converted it to a flash file, but can't play it without a flash player. Downloaded the suggested player, but nothing happens. When I click on it a message says there is no default application to open this. Also the directtions on how to embed it in the converted movie as well as to include the player on my website are over my head. I gave up in frustration a couple of hours ago, needed a break. Trying to clean out my overflowing mailbox (not a relaxing task however) and this email came in that you guys hadn't heard back from me. Don't know what to do about the flash player problem.
The Flash Player you downloaded from Adobe is a Web browser plugin. The video should play fine if you drag it to Safari or your preferred browser. Or, you can download a third party Flash player, such as SWF Movie Player.
