Computer Type: Apple
Model: Performa 6116CD
RAM: 24meg
RAM Enhancer: Virtual Memory
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
My PowerPC has two SIMM slots and 8mb soldiered to the motherboard. The Mac manual states that the max RAM configuration is 72mb (8mb on board and 2x32mb). I've been surfing the web to upgrade my Mac and have seen 64mb SIMMS available for my machine. I wouldn't mind going to 136mb (8mb on board and 2x64mb) if the price is right. If this is not a typo, is it recommended?

Hi Stephen,

The reason it states that in the manual is most likely because 64mb SIMMS hadn't been made yet or at least not cheaply. Just like they may someday produce 256mb DIMMS. I would consult www.maconcall.com/memory for more information, and either purchase a 64mb SIMM if you can and try it (should work just fine) or email maconcall for more data.

Hope this helps, thanks for using No Wonder!
