i want to know if is possible to convert an ara file to a dmg file. i have a G-4 with Mac Os X 10.3.9 install.. and my problem is that every time i open a rar file it turns into an exc file or somthing like that witch i can not use, it's been very frustrating can some body share some light into this problem i'will apreciated very much ...Thanks

You should be using RAR Expander to open those RAR files. If they contain anything other than Windows programs (exe), then you can probably use them on your Mac. Changing the compressed archive file format to dmg isn't going to change to content of the archive, though. But sure, regardless of the content, you can use Disk Utility to create a dmg afterward. What exactly are you shooting for?

Ok the thing is that softtweare that are suposly for mac like music programs and plugins comes in the ara format and when you open this file they turn in to exe and then what ? there is nothing else that one can do with this on a mac ? i know that one can open ara file if is something like a text file but is diferent when is a softwear...why? I have
UnRax,Stuffit,WinAra ! my question is if a softwear comes in Ara format is defenely for Windows and there is nothing that can change it to a format for the mac ! Thank you guys for your patient.

You are correct that nothing can change a Windows application into a Mac application. And true, rarely does Mac software come in RAR.
