i was receiving e-mail when i lost connection. when i reconected and went to "get mail" it said "no new messages". i want to know if i can still get that e-mail, or is it lost?

What email program where you using? Usually unless you had your mail program set to leave a copy on the server, the mail is lost. Also check with your isp to see if it is on the server and then try another program to retrieve the mail.
