I was wondering what was the most efficient way to recover more space on my hard drive. I am using Mac OS X 10.3.9 on a Powerbook G4. I am somewhat new to Mac - (within the last two years) as the last time I actual used a Mac (Apple) was in the 80's. It was an Apple IIC.
Thank you for your assistance.

A few ideas:
- Download Delocalizer and use it to remove language localizations that you don't need. Localizations are files hidden in application bundles that translate their interfaces into other languages.
- Delete third party applications you've downloaded over the years that you no longer use. Don't delete apps that came with OS X or iLife.
- Rummage through your files for those you feel you don't need to keep, if any. Sift through your music collection for songs you don't like. And wade remove attachments from email messages you want to keep but whose attachments you've downloaded and filed elsewhere or otherwise don't need. (Bottom of Message menu in Mail.)
Any of these help?

Thank you Ben for your assistance.
I am going to try these fixes and see if they will increase the speed of my computer.

How much disk space do you have free/total? Usually, the easiest way to increase speed, without replacing the processor, is to add more memory (RAM).
