Hello,

I just did a routine software update which included 10.4.8 on a G5 dual 2.0. After completing the reboot, I have an annoying 3 by 5 rectangle that follows my mouse pointer. It appears to be activating just before the finder comes up. It does not occur on my other user I have set up. Unfortunately, I can't shift to using the other user due to authorizations that are specific to my user acct. I initially suspected Snapz Pro as it was booting at start up and trashed it (along with it's preferences) but to no avail. (perhaps I missed something when cleaning it out?)

I'm uncertain as to how to identify the culprit. My computer is pretty heavily loaded with audio software (I run a recording studio based around the G5).

I've been through the Universal setups to make sure they are off.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

This is a common problem after the update. Open your Universal Access preferences and then turn off the "Show preview rectangle when zoomed out" option.

HTH and please let us know what happens. Thanks.
