I previously asked for some help on how to complete an erase and install to get rid of a file issue on Tiger.
I asked if as my machine came with Panther installed, and a Tiger DVD in the box, whether or not I’d need to do an erase and install of OSX 10.3 first, before using the tiger upgrade disk.
I was advised this would not be necessary. However, I’ve just realised that reinstall has worked fine, but removed all iLife applications (or which I use Garage Band and iPhoto frequently) and a few other things I use often. I've updated iTunes via the web.
To get these back will I have to erase and install Panther first, then add the tiger upgrade again?
I’m fortunate enough to live close to one of the few apple stores in the UK, and will be able to visit it in a couple of weeks time. They have helped me with re-install issues in the past relating to my original system conflict problem. Do you think they’d be able to add the iLife suite to my iBook in-store, since it was purchased with it installed?
Many thanks,
Matt
Hi Matt
If the iLife apps came with your machine, then they'll be on your original disks.
You can use Pacifist to extract these programs from those disks and install;
