hello there, i purchased timbuktu multiplatform package, and what i'm trying to do is connect to my windows xp desktop computer in my dorm with my apple powerbook when i go back to my parents house. or i can connect to my girlfriends powerbook from in new york, i'm located in ottawa canada right now. thank you so much

Yes, but its going to take some configuration in order to complete. And you will need to have Timbuktu installed on all the computers you want to connect to/from.
There are other options
1) For connecting to a computer running WindowsXP Pro ( Not Home ) from a Mac running OS 10.x.x you can get the free Remote Desktop Connection application from Microsoft. Do a search on www.versiontracker.com for Remote Desktop Connection.
Only thing you need is that app on the Mac to control with, and Remote Assistance turned on, on the computer running XP pro to be controlled.
2) With a copy of Apple Remote Desktop installed on your Mac, you can connect, view, control, any Mac running OS 10.x (With Remote Desktop turned on) as well as any PC running VNC server (Many free VNC servers out there, both for PC and Mac.)
3) For short term direct control from Mac to Mac (With a person at each end) you can use the free "Help" app, from Macosx.com

(30 Min time limit and you will need someone on the end to be controlled, launch "help" and the one to control should have a copy of "Chicken of the VNC" - you can find this too on Versiontracker)

awesome i bought like 10 timbuktu lisences and i'll give u like 5 cause all i need is on 5 computers. just need to get it set up. i mean i have apple remote desktop also but can;t get that working and i need somone to help me test it out. i'm going to bed now but email me at shanho86@gmail.com or add me shanho86@hotmail.com and we can get this worked out. thanks so much

I currently do not have any Timbuktu installed though. Guess I will get the Damo version and see if that will work for now.
Wont be able to do this though till Sun or Mon. I hope thats not a problem.
What IM services do you use besides hotmail? AIM? Yahoo? Skype? MSN?
