TICKET ARCHIVE -> Reset ibook g4 admin password

I have disabled the firmware and when I go into single user i type
/sbin/fsck -y
/sbin/mount -uw
/sbin/systemstarter
passwd adminbhs
it dosnt prompt me to reset the password, how can i fix this im using Tiger and i dont have the disc.

Use your original install disk, boot up with the install disk and you will see an option in one of the menubar items to reset the admin password.

i dont have the install disc

If you have a Panther or Tiger install disk, that'll work also. Otherwise, you'll have to spend a little money. Panther install disks can be purchased for $30.
