TICKET ARCHIVE -> Return Address field on Envelopes

When I attempt to print envelopes from the Address Book program, it somehow picks one of the several address cards under my name--unfortunately not the format that I would like to use. I can find no preference option that lets me pick another card. An option under the LABEL tab of the print routine lets me turn on off the return address field but that's all I find. There must be some way to select which card to use.

A possibly related question is that the card that it does pick for "Me" has a silowette head and shoulders icon ahead of my name in the Address Book "Name" list. How did that get there and what does it mean?

I'm using OS 10.4 in a Mac Mini.

Thanks.....billyboy

The little silhouette means that card is 'My Card', or the default address for your account. Choose the name/card that you want as default in your Address Book, and choose 'Make This My Card' from the Card menu.

Thanks very much, Dale.

It seems that Apple has thought of everything--If I can only find where they put it.

Now perhaps you can tell me why I can't get an address book card to accept an identifying image, like the instrunctions imply. If I drag a .jpg 64 x 64 pixel image onto the box ahead of a name on the card, I get a window displaying the image and a highlighted button labeled "SET". Clicking SET closes the window but doesn't do anything else that I can discern. How come?

I have no idea. I just tried it. That same process works for me to replace my picture with a more recent shot.
Update your system to 10.4.3
Repair your disk permissions.
Try the picture change again.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for trying.
