BBC has its RSS feeds clearly marked as such on the homepage, along with "What is RSS?" to answer your questions. If you're looking for a newsreader and you're not using Safari 2.x in Tiger or don't like it, I recommend you try NetNewsWire Lite by Ranchero Software:

Does that help?

If you're using Safari 2, then you can choose your default RSS reader in its preferences and automatically subscribe to feeds when you click them. If not, you need to copy the feed URLs and create new subscriptions in NNW. NNW will automatically paste the address on the clipboard so you can just click Subscribe. Would be good, anyway, for you to explore NNW menus and preferences to see what you can do, and then you can organize your feeds as you desire.
