TICKET ARCHIVE -> Running .sitx Files

I just cleared my hd and installed 10.4 but it doesnt appear to have the complete software package. When i download programs of the internet and try to run them and install them it asks me which program i should use to run it. Can you tell me what software I need and what other software i potentially might be missing.

If you do an erase and install of Tiger, you will find that you are missing Stuffit software, and looking at your subject, this is probably what you need. You can download that from allume.com here - http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/download3.html
Tiger also does not include the iApps that are part of iLife, except for iTunes. Examples would be iDVD, iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.
These type of apps you will need to install separately.
Those would be some of the basic apps that are not included with Tiger, and which would originally come installed on a Mac.
