I am a senior citizen who has just moved to Dorchester County SC ..My son gifted me with the subject computer a year and a half ago...I have learned to do a lot of things on here, but am presently having problems learning to attach photos to e-mails to forward to friends and also how to forward sites to my friends....Can anyone suggest some good sites that I can learn from or better yet, a Tutor or Classes I can attend in this area..My husband and I would appreciate your help.
Thank you,
Diana

Hi Diana
You should contact an Apple User Groupr in your area. Check this page for available groups;
http://appleusergroups.com/locator/f...e.cgi?state=SC
They can usually help with anything, and can usualy be contacted anytime for help.
For attaching a picture to an email, if you're using Apple's Mail program, select a new message, then click the Attach button on the Toolbar. A new navigation window will open where you'll navigate to the picture you want to attach.
It will have a Drop Down near the top where you can navigate through.
You can also, in the new message window, drag the picture to the message body.
To forward web pages to people, you can either Copy the URL at the top of the web page and paste it into the message area, or put your mouse pointer on the beginning of the URL (on the icon) in the URL field and drag that to the message area.
A very good book to get is 'Mac OS X: The Missing Manual, Panther Edition'.
You can get it here;
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
There are online Quicktime tutorials you can watch here;
http://www.atomiclearning.com/macosxpanther
And, you can always come to Macosx.com for any help you require, or ask any questions.

Hi Bob..I must begin by apologizing for the delay in my thanking you for trying to assist me with the problems I am having forwarding pics and web pages to my friends...First of all I am using the bellsouth mail system that comes with my ISP.....Could this be part of my problem?...I hav e tried using the .Mac mail, but it will not go thru for some reason....Any suggestions on that?
The nearest "Help" center to Summerville is about 30 minutes away, but I will gie them a call..We are new to the area having just moved to SC from CA and it's taking us a while to learn our way around...
I want to once again thank you for your quick reply to my request for help....Any and all suggestions are sincerely appreciated..

I looked at BellSouth web page for email and you can use email programs on your machine for their email, but they don't should the incoming/outgoing server settings you need to use. You ay be able to get this info after logging into your account.
If you don't see anything for this, I would contact BellSouth and have them walk you through it.

I just found the setup page for Apple's Mail program here;
http://help.bellsouth.net/blscontent...l_os10_mac.asp
Set your Mail up following those instructions.

OK Bob..We are getting closer here..lol....I was able to use the "Setting up Apple Mail" instructions until I got to the part where the "SMTP" section pops up....I am unable to type in my user name or password.....Cursor won't let me type there....
Now to be sure I understand, when it sayes user name, I put in
dina-ron@belsouth.net or just diana_ron? I am using the password that Bellsouth gave me...Is that the correct one to use?
I'm tryin hard...really.....
Thanks again Bob...

Your user name in the SMPT box would be just 'dina-ron'
If it won't let you type in, just hit the OK button and try checking for Mail. It may ask for your user name and password then.

Delete that account and start the process over and see what happens.
