I am connected to the Internet via a cable modem (Speed touch 530/530i)and build in Ethernet. Since 3 weeks I cannot connect to the Internet with the applications that uses TCP 80 (Safari,iTunes Music store, software update,iCall,iChat,iSight, Help menus, Sherlock, Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
2068
World Wide Web, .Mac, Sherlock, QuickTime Installer, iTunes Store and Radio, Software Update, RAID Admin, Backup, iCal calendar publishing, Virex eUpdate, iPhoto Homepage publishing.
When I try to connect to the Internet or open a website, a window is showing me the error that follows:
Safari cannot open the page: 'http://macosx.com/forums/search.php?do=process'. Error: 'POSIX error: Cannot allocate memory' (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:12)
Strange about the whole thing is that I don't have problems with "Mail" I can send and receive male and also "Firefox" is working perfect although the application stops when I try to open my AIM account (AOL)I tried everything but now I really at the end.
Please help me

Have you tried simply restarting your cable modem?

Have you recently changed your proxy server settings, or setup a proxy server, when you don't need a proxy?

Also, you may want to try this:
http://www.macosx.com/forums/mac-os-...2-upgrade.html

or this:
http://macosx.com/tech-support/probl...rade/7104.html

You may want to delete safari preferences, and possibly internet preferences in /Users//Library/Preferences

I restarted my modem several times-brought it back to the factory setting and reconfigurated.I cannot change the proxy server settings because they are configurated via a PAC only the server or the provider can do that (I think) I checked the pages mentioned but I don't think they are addressing my problem. Everything worked perfect more then a year. It was only recently (3 weeks ago) that this problem occured and I connected an other Mac with my modem and Internetcable. Is it possible that the provider or the server changed something? Please keep things simple I am a real dummy concerning computers and I desperate need help!

Are you sure that you need proxy settings of any kind? (you would know)

Most ISP's do not have anything to do with proxy settings, so you may have turned yours on without any need to do so. Try going to those proxy settings, and changing from 'using a PAC file' to 'Manually', and turn off all other proxy settings on that window, then click the 'Apply Now' button.
If this does not help, you'll need to contact your ISP for further help.
