When I first started to try and play these video clips the message came up that I needed a plug in and took me to a website. First site was a 404 or something like that. The next one offered a free plug in which I tried 'DiVx' and now I get sound but no picture. As for the other sites/products I am not really sure what they are talking about. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Derek

I have now done this. I have sound but no picture. Any further thoughts.

[This had worked on my PowerMac G4 but not on this MacBook.]

I haven't tried this, but Perian is what a lot of people use successfully.

The Perian download includes a Perian component. Text on that window states "Drag Perian.component to the Quicktime Folder"
it's all right in plain view. There's also a short read-me file that also describes the same simple file transfer. What are you missing?

Please keep in mind that you might not be able to play every type of video file that you might find. There are some video types that require Windows, usually DirectX
