Running OS 10.3.9

When I try to save the Address Book I get an Error -50 message.

I can't save it to a Zip or a CD.

Other than that, the computer runs OK.

Conrad, welcome to macosx.com

What do you mean by "saving" ? Could you detailled me what you do: xhat do you drag to where.

Remark: draging the AddressBook program stored in your Applications folder to another media is not a way to backup the AddressBook's content: all your AddressBook's contacts are not stored within the application itself

A good way to backup your contacts is to use the freeware addressbook exporter
http://gwenhiver.net/applications/ad...rter/index.php

To re-import them: address book importer

I was trying to burn it to a CD or transfer*it to a Zip disc as a backup. Obviously that did not work. I recently lost my Address Book on another computer when it crashed.

Do you suggest I use the AddressBookExporter to save it to my Desktop and then transfer to a CD or Zip, or go directly to the disc?

Thanks,

Conrao

ADE create a simple tab-delimited ascii file (when, by the way, can be imported in EXCEL). So yes, export AdressBook to such a file on the Desktop and then put the file on a ZIP or burn it to CD
