TICKET ARCHIVE -> Saving Video Streams

I will begin taking classes on-line in January.

The school in question streams lectures via Real Media, without the ability to save the broadcast.

I have to pay a pretty penny for bandwidth at my home. So I'd like to play a few lessons at once at free wireless access point, and save them to my HD for later viewing.

Of course this is not an option provided by the school.

Is there a program out there that can locally save these broadcasts as files?

Thanks.

Depending on how they are displaying the file, you might be able to actually download it. if it's actually streaming from a server.. then it's a big harder. Your best bet is to get a utility that can capture anything on the screen. the same as taking a screen shot, but with video.

there's snapz pro (http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/6149), but for the video recording it's about $70

there's also a program for $30 called ScreenAction Studio (http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/19995), but I don't know if it's any good.

or this program for $10, Screentool (http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/11461), but again, I don't know how well it preforms.

Snapz pro is your best bet, but if cost is a problem then it wouldn't hurt to check out the demos of the other ones too.
