Description:
Hello,
Umax Astra 1200U software is installed in my iMac. Scanner display/program comes up on computer screen OK. Problem is how to attach the scanned document/photo to the e-mail in the Outlook Express. Would it be possible for you folks to just give me a step-by-step run through on how to do this? Everything regarding the scanner seems to be working fine, except for my being able to send documents/photos via e-mail. Have tried Umax support, and the store where I got the scanner. None of which really gave me a detailed description on how to do this. Had no luck with the limited advise they provided. Thanks for your time. Will really appreciate any help you might provide.

Dear Herb, I thank you for using out services here at NoWonder, and hope that I fulfill your qustion to the best of my ability. I cannot give you step by step instructions on how to add scanned photos to an E-mail, but can give you the basics on how it is generally done. First, you're going to have to scan your document/photo using your umax scanner. Next, you must save that file as a JPEG(pronounced Jay-Peg). You can do this in the save menu. Under where your scanner program lets you save the name of the document, there should be a little bar that has a file type on it. Click on this bar, and hold it down. Drag it down to "JPG" or "JPEG" and save the document after you enter a name. Next, when you are done with your E-mail message, there should be either a button that says "attachments", or it will be in one of the file menus. This will prompt you to pick the file you wish to attach. Repeat this last step if you have more files to attach. Send your E-mail. This should answer your question. Microsoft usually has a help program built into its programs, and can be opened up from inside "Microsoft Outlook Express" by pressing the help key.
